This week on the show, Steve and Chloe look at Diablo Cody and Zelda Williams’ new graveyard romance, a new Canadian-made comedy that surprised big time, a comedy-drama featuring another great Steve Zahn performance and so much more. Plus, Chloe gives her thoughts on a superpowered direct-to-video Bruce Willis flick.

This week I have a couple of smaller films with Molly Manning Walker’s cautionary tale and an office character drama starring Daisy Ridley. I also dig into the fortieth anniversary 4K of Footloose, gush about the new Universal Monsters Collector’s Edition and new mini-series on both Netflix and AppleTV+.

This week I got to see if the Taylor Swift conspiracy theory around Argylle held any weight, a Mads Mikkelsen Vancouver International Film Festival Favorite favorite gets its theatrical release and a great sexual exploration Canadian comedy which also played the same festival. This week I finally got to see the new Yorgos Lanthimos masterpiece and it did not disappoint! Angus Cloud’s second last performance hit blu-ray along with a couple other Hong Kong actioners and I immersed myself in one of the best HBO limited series in recent memory.

This week I start with a little dip in the pool for Night Swim and a whopping three Netflix movies. New on DVD, Kitty Green is putting Julia Garner through hell once again, one of the originators of German New Wave cinema is the focus of a new documentary and much, much more.

On the final episode of 2023, I give my thoughts on the ending of the DC Cinematic Universe, Zack Snyder’s new universe launch on Netflix, two new legacy horror films and the great disruptor of my “best-of” list for 2023. I’ve got big new ideas for Best Actor this year!

This week I give my full thoughts on Wonka, Five Nights At Freddy’s is on 4K, a Chinese epic sci-fi that completely outdoes anything Roland Emmerich can come up with, a handful of remastered films from the 90s and more. Also, where is your bar set for Aquaman?
