Breaking down all things pop culture

This week on What the Hell Should I Watch?, I’m diving into a stacked lineup of films and series that had me hooked from start to finish. First up, I break down Zach Cregger’s Weapons — a tense, perspective-shifting horror with Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, and Amy Madigan that proves Cregger is more than a one-hit Barbarian wonder. Then it’s onto Disney’s 22-years-later sequel Freakier Friday, reuniting Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, plus an unexpectedly heartfelt indie gem, East of Wall, set in the South Dakota Badlands. I also swing into high-flying martial arts with the gorgeous Chinese wushu epic Invincible Swordsman.

On the streaming side, I finally get to talk about Alien: Earth on Disney+ — Noah Hawley’s gripping new Alien series packed with xenomorphs, strange new creatures, and Timothy Olyphant in full genre mode.

Chloe joins me to rave about Warfare, a gritty, emotional Iraq War drama starring Joseph Quinn and Cosmo Jarvis that doesn’t hold back on intensity. Plus, we tease what’s coming next week — from How to Train Your Dragon live action to Jurassic World Rebirth, The Girl with the Needle, and cult classic Punishment Park.
